Wisconsin

The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) helps ensure that people living with HIV and AIDS who are uninsured and under-insured have access to medication.

Eligibility Criteria

In the State of Wisconsin, to be eligible for ADAP enrollment, an individual must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a positive HIV/AIDS diagnosis;
  • Be a resident of Wisconsin;
  • have no or insufficient third party payment; and
  • have a family income that does not exceed 300% of the federal poverty guideline.
Application Instructions

ADAP applications are available statewide through community-based organizations and at the offices of physicians specializing in the treatment of HIV. Completed applications are mailed to ADAP at the Division of Public Health for screening. ADAP sends approval letters to eligible clients and the pharmacy selected by the client. The designated pharmacy dispenses a 30-day supply of approved medications to the client and submits billing for these prescriptions to ADAP.

Clients can also access a paper application online. Completed applications should be placed in an envelope marked "CONFIDENTIAL" and mailed to:
