Directory of AIDS Drug Assistance Programs

Rhode Island

The AIDS Drug Assistance Program ( ADAP ) helps ensure that people living with HIV and AIDS who are uninsured and under-insured have access to medication.

Eligibility Criteria: 

To qualify, an individual would have to:

  • Be a Rhode Island resident
  • Have a documented HIV diagnosis
  • Have income at or below 500% of the federal poverty level (FPL)
  • Have a case manager (medical or non-medical) affiliated with a RI Ryan White-funded agency. See list of agencies that participate.
Application Instructions: 

To apply for ADAP, a RI Ryan White-funded agency case manager can help clients apply. Applicants need to complete an ADAP Application and fax or mail it to EOHHS. The ADAP staff will determine the client’s eligibility. For most people, the enrollment process takes less than 48 hours. Case managers can also help people apply for the RI-FAB program. To be eligible for RI-FAB, clients need to be enrolled in the ADAP program first.
